Department of Archaeology
 
Archaeology, as a new science has been experiencing considerable evolutions since 150 years ago. Alongside the fast developments of technology and other branches of science, it has been able to achieve new perspectives. The broadness of Iran territory, its cultural antiquity and its multi thousand years civilization with different cultures, sites and cultural monuments make Iranian archaeology to enjoy a very high potential.
In 1935, Archaeology was considered as one of the first departments of FLH to start academic instructing of archeology in Iran. So Iraninan modern archaeological researches began to be managed academically. Now, after seven decades of research and educational activities, the department is still moving forward training students in BA., MA and Ph.D. degrees.
